Anna Burgess of Needham is spending the summer on Beacon Hill completing an internship at Senator Brian A. Joyce’s State House office. The Legislature’s summer internship program offers daily guest speakers and tours of state offices.

Interns positively affect the function of State Senate offices, and in return, interns are offered a first-hand look at how government operates. Interns are commonly introduce to several aspects of state government, including legislative research and constituent work, so that they can decide if a public service career is right for them.

“Anna is bright and talented and I am delighted to have her in my office,” said Senator Joyce.

Anna Burgess will be entering her sophomore year at Tufts University this fall.
