Five Corners paving takes place Thursday and Friday

Five Corners, which has been under construction since May will undergo paving in the coming days, officials warned motorists this week.

The Town of Easton released a bulletin alerting residents that paving will occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday. At times alternating sides of the roads will be closed.

Officials said Easton Police will be allowing local traffic, including customers of local businesses, through detours.

Two weeks ago, Five Corners was closed when workers struck a gas line, causing major traffic back-ups and shutting off gas to area businesses. Last week, area businesses had water turned off while workers investigated a possible water leak, which turned out not to be a water main.

Officials notified businesses that the town is working with Senator Brian Joyce and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to provide detailed information regarding the construction and create a mailing list for local area businesses regarding construction phases.

Businesses located in the area are asked to contact Kit Minsky at [email protected] or at (508) 230-0501 to provide name, business name, email address, and telephone number.
