BOSTON – Senator Brian A. Joyce joined his Massachusetts Senate colleagues Thursday in voting to make emergency funds available to cover costs related to the emergency response efforts following the Patriot’s Day bombing, including funds to support National Guard personnel.

The bill provides $1.5 million for National Guard expenses and creates a $5 million reserve for other associated costs. The bill coincides with President Obama’s declaration of emergency in Massachusetts that allows federal aid to reach the Commonwealth.
