BOSTON — Sue Etkind, a nurse from Milton, was recognized as the state’s “2013 TB Hero” at the “World No TB Day” held at the State House on March 26.

Patricia Iyer, also of Milton, was among seven people named to the TB Honor Roll.

The Medical Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Tuberculosis, a group of physicians and other TB experts focused on Massachusetts, held the event attended by 100 legislators, Department of Public Health officials, physicians, nurses and community members.

Etkind retired last year as director of the Department of Public Health’s TB Division and is now the Executive Director of Stop TB USA. Iyer was recognized for her work at the TB Division.
