Senator Joyce receives EDUCATION Award

Senator Brian A. Joyce was recently awarded the Massachusetts Association for Advancement of Individual Potentials "Public Service Award."

Senator Joyce received the award during a MA/AIP dinner on Monday, May 7th in recognition of his "support and commitment to gifted and talented youth in the Commonwealth."

"I am honored to be the recipient of this award and I am firmly committed to improving the education services for all children," said Senator Joyce.

As a legislator, Senator Joyce has fought to increase state education funding for students with all levels of ability. Massachusetts currently spends less than almost every other state in the nation on gifted and talented education programs. Only 75 of the states 331 public school districts have programs specifically devoted to meeting the needs of academic high achievers.
